DearDarkHead

A trio based in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area consisting of: guitarist Kevin Harrington, drummer Robert Weiss and bassist Kevin McCauley, who came on board during the fall of 2010 after the departure of longtime singer/bassist Michael Amper. Currently they are performing all instrumental shows but are seeking the right person to take over on vocals.

The group’s sound is openly and proudly Anglophilic, combining both elements of the blissout shoegazer scene and a slightly older vein of post-punk guitar experimentalism, making a rich combination between the two influences. Words like atmospheric, ethereal and dreampop are often used to describe their original guitar driven, psychedelic storm of sound that balances moody textures and shimmering melodies.

The Tweeds

Emerged out of the Main Line of Philadelphia’s suburbs and the campus of Penn State University. Coming together after line-up changes and band mergers The Tweeds create a sound akin to such greats as Ghosts and Vodka, My Bloody Valentine and The Beatles: dancey gaze-pop to Psychedelic Drone rock with soaring vocal harmonies that will hypnotize the ear of the musician and everyday music fan alike. The Tweeds recorded and released their first full length album Goliath in April 2011 and were named the Philadelphia and National Artist of the month for The Deli Magazine in May 2011. With the current Deli and indie blogosphere buzz, the band is making strides to establish themselves along the east coast with upcoming tour plans and more recording projects. In fact, they are currently working on their sophomore album with Kyle “Slick” Johnson (Wavves – King of the Beach) at Fancy Time Studios in Philly.

Division, as well as fellow Berlin shoegaze /

The Playing Fields are a London based band who released their debut album "Hello New World" on the CactiShed Record label in 2007. The second album "Hungry Ghosts" is scheduled for release in early 2012.

Settling on the name The Playing Fields in 2003/4, brothers Stephen & Michael Bland and bassist Jeff Baskett continued to forge a unique sound, dark, intense pieces fixed with beautifully melodious song-writing. In 2005 the band honed their performance skills with many gigs and a succession of drummers. The songs developed in complexity and with a harder rythmic drive. An acoustic version of their song "Valley of Salt" was featured on BBC TV's Hustle.

Joined by drummer Ron Rosenblum & violinist Hannah Sless, the band recorded their debut LP "Hello New World" at The SickRoom Studios with Owen Turner from Magoo . The album was mastered by Kramer (from Second Shimmy Label/Galaxie 500/Lou Reed/Yo La Tengo fame). In December 2006 the album's title track featured at number 7 on the Dandelion Radio continuation of the John Peel festive fifty list.

In 2007 the album hit the shops through CactiShed...Records, disrtibuted by Shellshock/Backs, receiving near unanimous fantastic reviews. 2007 gig highlights included a UK and European tour including the Camden Crawl, being supported by Metric, headlining at Dingwalls & a successful stint @ the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A single from the LP hit the shops on November 5, 2007.

Joined by ex-Brian Jonestown Massacre & current Swervedriver drummer Graham Bonnar, the band are curretly putting the final touches to their follow up LP, provisionally titled "Hungry Ghosts" and due for release in 2012.
